Our courses will inspire you to explore your creativity.
You can learn all sorts of arts and crafts with us: jewellery, drawing, silkpainting, painting, printmaking, screen-printing, ceramics and more!
Keen on fashion? We can help you develop skills in sewing, garment-making, pattern-cutting, textile crafts, appliqué, tailoring, soft furnishings and embroidery.
Our courses are at several levels and held on various days and times. We offer taster sessions, short-courses, day and evening courses, and accredited courses.
‘The relaxed comfortable settings, friendly groups and teachers who were welcoming, understanding and encouraging, provided a refreshing atmosphere which felt like “me” time! I found the courses interesting, enjoyable, refreshing, stimulating…!’
Adella, creative courses learner
Adella came back into learning to do several creative courses. She did relief printing, curtain-making, a pottery taster session at the craft fair, and a festive floristry taster session.
‘The creative economy accounts for one in six jobs. These jobs often use skills that can be transferred from other industries, like carpentry, coding or crafts. Many of these jobs are ‘future-proof’ because 87 per cent of creative jobs are at low risk of automation.’
Skills for Londoners Strategy
Our team of tutors are experienced and accomplished artists, crafters, business owners and lecturers. From fine art, garment-making and jewellery, to ceramics and up-cycling, their industry and educational experience means they can support new learners as well as those who wish to apply their skills to make and sell their own work.
Our partners include libraries, community centres and organisations in Waltham Forest and beyond.
Last year, we delivered 148 community learning courses to 900 learners in the borough.
