Skills and confidence for your future

Waltham Forest Council has formed a jobs coalition with employers and businesses to create job opportunities for local residents.

Improving residents’ confidence in their future is crucial. We provide access to skills and qualifications to get residents back into work, take the next step in a career, start their own business or improve their confidence and wellbeing.

This website has information about Waltham Forest courses; free job skills programmes (such as Passport to Work), workshops and employment support; and our free job fairs for unemployed Waltham Forest residents.

Supporting local businesses

Waltham Forest Council has special grants to support businesses and sole traders that have suffered as a result of Covid-19. Waltham Forest business Dance Days received a grant from the scheme. Dance Days provides educational, dance-based workshops to local schools.

‘This grant will make a big difference to our work. The school closures during lockdown meant we lost a huge amount of our income, and we were really struggling … this grant means we will be able to offer a whole set of new programmes to Waltham Forest schools at a cheaper price, enabling more local children to take part.’

– Matthew, co-director of local business Dance Days
