Family learning – FREE courses

Family Everyday Spoken English This course is to help you, as a parent/carer of a child in school, improve your reading, writing and speaking skills, focussing mainly on spoken English, so that you can communicate better with your child’s school and gain confidence to progress onto our ESOL courses. This course is for adults only who can speak a little English but very much at beginners level.

Family English and Family maths

These courses show you how your children learn at school and how best to support them. These are for adults only but there may be joint sessions with your children. All the courses take place in local schools and children’s centres.

Wider family learning

Wider family learning courses are a wonderful opportunity for the whole family to learn together. Families can include mothers, fathers, carers or any adult relative over 18. We run a wide range of activities including art, crafts, gardening, cooking, crafts, picture poetry, and raising awareness of first aid.

Good Children, Great Parents and Calm Children, Calm Parents courses

Our range of parenting courses gives you the opportunity to think about how you communicate with your children and continually review how you can positively improve your child’s behaviour. Parents who have attended these courses have consistently told us that they have seen a significant change for the better in their children’s behaviour. These courses are suitable for all parents, including prospective parents.
