There are many jobs in the hair and beauty industry with flexible working hours. You can also choose to be self-employed.
Our courses give you the opportunity to gain the qualifications you need. Our commercial salon helps you train in a realistic working environment and practise your skills. You get hands-on experience to prepare you for the workplace. Before you start, we will discuss your skills and study options and explain more about our courses. Level 1 courses are a good introduction to the sector and they offer the opportunity to move up to Level 2. Our Level 2 courses will prepare you for a new job or a promotion.

If you are interested in a career in Barbering, this course is for you. You will develop your knowledge and understanding of what is required to be a Barber. Topics will include men’s haircut, shampoo and condition, cutting facial hair to shape. This Level 2 Diploma in Barbering is accredited by VTCT and consists of the following units:
- Health and safety.
- Client consultation.
- Shampooing and conditioning hair.
- Basic haircuts.
- Blow-dry and finishing.
- Cutting facial hair to shape.
As part of this course you will be required to purchase a kit. This list will be given to you on assessment day. Financial support is available for those who require it.
If you are interested in cutting hair, this course is for you. You will develop your knowledge and understanding of various techniques to cutting hair. This Level 2 Certificate is accredited by VTCT and consists of the following units:
- Cutting.
- Styling.
- Shampooing and conditioning.
- Finishing and setting hair.
As part of this course you will be required to purchase a kit. This list will be given to you on assessment day. Financial support is available for those who require it.
If you are interested in Hairdressing, this course is for you. You will develop your knowledge and understanding of various topics in hairdressing. This Level 2 Diploma is accredited by VTCT and consists of the following units:
- Advise and consult with clients.
- Set and dress hair.
- Styles and finish hair.
- Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work.
- Cut hair using basic techniques.
- Colour and lighten hair.
- Shampooing, condition and treat the hair and scalp.
As part of this course you will be required to purchase uniform and kit. This list will be given to you on assessment day. Financial support is available for those who require it.
If you are interested in makeup, this course is for you. You will develop your knowledge and understanding of various topics within the industry of makeup. Topics will include the imaginative application of make-up. This Level 2 Award is accredited by VTCT
